Deliciouslyorkshire's Festival of Food & Drink

They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. And it’s worth a bet that heart-shaped goats cheeses, pink champagne sorbet and plenty of chocolate would be just as well-received by most women.

So if you want a sure-fire way to earn brownie points next Valentine’s Day, the Deliciouslyorkshire Festival of Food and Drink is the place to be.

Deliciouslyorkshire, brand identity for the Regional Food Group for Yorkshire and Humber, is bringing together the region’s finest produce and unique products and gift ideas at the festival, to be held at the Vulcan Arena on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th February 2005.

Around 60 regional companies will be exhibiting at the show, offering Valentine’s Day-inspired produce and lots more.

Celebrity chef Brian Turner will be performing a series of cookery demonstrations using terrific Yorkshire produce to inspire you to cook a memorable meal for two.

This high-profile event is hosted in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council and the Regional Food Group for Yorkshire & Humber.

Karen Carlyle, executive director of the Regional Food Group, said: “Deliciouslyorkshire Festival of Food and Drink is a perfect opportunity to raise the profile of the fantastic local and regional food available in Yorkshire.

“Buying direct from the producers gives consumers instant and valuable information on their products, such as how they’re made and where their products are available.  There is an element of trust formed between consumers and producers.  The Deliciouslyorkshire branded festivals are not just about seeing and sampling regional food, but about buying and supporting the region’s local food.”

Deliciouslyorkshire is fanatical about supporting local food initiatives and passionate about the range of food and drink Yorkshire produces.

“Everyone knows about Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside: I firmly believe it’s time to tell them about our wonderful food,” concludes Carlyle.

Admission to the event is £3.50 for Adults and £2.00 for OAPs. Children under 14 will be admitted free.

The event is open from 10.00am until 5.00pm on Saturday 12th and from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Sunday 13th.
