International Rugby League will return to the KC Stadium this autumn with England tackling Samoa in the Federation Shield on Sunday November 5th (kick-off 3pm).
Following on from the success of Great Britain’s Tri-nations clashes with Australia (2003 & 2005) and New Zealand (2004), the KC has once again been selected as a tournament venue.
The Federation Shield is a new concept and will feature England, Samoa, France and Tonga, all of whom are making preparations for the 2008 World Cup.
The England side will be made up of top players from the Engage Super League, as well as some of the games fastest rising stars.
The tournament gets underway on October 22nd with a special ‘double-header’ at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, and two of the fixtures will be staged in France.
