The Gemtec Arena is situated in West Park adjacent to the Kingston Communications Stadium and is managed by the Stadium Management Company.

To operate a customer focused sports facility with a commitment to high standards of service, cleanliness and customer care
To provide a quality home and venue for the city's leading teams and players across a wide range of sports
To encourage all sectors of the community to participate in sport at the facility
To form close working relationships with local sports clubs, the council's sports development unit and other key partners in the community
To attract major sporting, musical and other suitable events to the arena
To maximise the use of the facility 7 days-a-week
To provide a quality catering operation with vending facilities

1784 sq.m. sports hall (54m x 33m and 9m high) accommodating 12 badminton courts
sprung wooden flooring for multi sports use
floor to ceiling netting to divide the hall in half or thirds
rebound screens to divide the hall into thirds for 5-a-side football
an inventory of equipment to cater for basketball, indoor hockey, 5-a-side football, netball, table tennis, short tennis, trampolining, aerobics, volleyball, indoor bowls and children's short tennis, gymnastics and athletics
mobile retractable seating for 1200 spectators and a first floor balcony to accommodate 300 fixed gallery seating
