Hull super group The Raywells are keen to place the City firmly on the map as they take the next step along the road to musical success with the impending release of their debut single ‘Dance Round The Fire.’
The four piece band are busy promoting the new single, which will be exclusively released ahead of their forthcoming live date at the magnificent Kingston Communications Stadium on Saturday 26th April.
The Raywells are set to perform both pre-match and during the half time interval as Hull City take on Kidderminster Harriers in the final home game of the season.
The gig follows an earlier appearance at the KC Stadium back in February when the group played in front a crowd of almost 16,000 spectators.
Officials expect the game to attract a similar number of people and video footage of the live performance by the group will be used for forthcoming promotion of the single.
The Raywells have been tipped for great things having already broken into what is a notoriously tough industry and gigged at venues including Liverpool's famous Cavern Club and London's trendy Ocean Club.
They will embark on their first US tour at the end of June when they fly out to California to support American band Driven, who hope to follow in the band’s footsteps and play at the KC Stadium during a visit to the UK in September.
’Dance Round The Fire’ will be on sale exclusively from the KC Stadium Super Store ahead of the Kidderminster match priced £2.99, then lead singer Pedgie and the rest of the band will be at hand to sign copies of the new CD.
The Raywells are signed to London based record label Platinum Records who are confident the single will go down a storm following its release at the Stadium next Saturday. “We are prepared to launch ‘Dance Round The Fire’ which will go on nationwide release within four months,” explains Shah D. Saud, Managing Director of Platinum Records.
“The band have been working extremely hard over the last six months showcasing their talents and original collection of songs to the record industry. Platinum Records are very grateful for the support and opportunities that both the Stadium Management Team and Hull City AFC have offered The Raywells and we wish them well in their efforts in opening similar doors for other local bands.”
Indeed the bookings are continuing to roll in for the band, who draw their influences from the sixties and seventies and entertain audiences with an original brand of music which is a breath of fresh air amidst the deluge of manufactured 'pop' kicking around at the moment.
The Raywells are keen to put Hull on the map in their bid for stardom and have visions of ultimately headlining their own sell-out gig at the KC Stadium in the future. Stadium Marketing Manager, Rob Smith added. "The Raywells certainly look as though they are going places and we are delighted to be able to give them a stage from which to widen their audience. As the Stadium Management Company we have a duty to promote the City of Hull whether it be through the success of local sports teams or local musical groups.
”The boys have become familiar faces around the stadium, at matches and are equally keen to promote their home town City. Who knows? The next time they play at the KC Stadium they could be headlining their own concert in front of 25,000 people!"
’Dance Round The Fire’ will be available exclusively from the KC Stadium Super Store from 9am on Saturday 26th April. The Raywells will be on hand to sign copies between 1.15pm and 2.15pm and the new single will be performed live on the pitch at 2.30pm as well as during the half time interval (3.45pm).
