Deborah Coulson, a devoted Tigers supporter for the past 6 years, won her dream prize in a competition run by her employer Kingston Communications in conjunction with the Tigers.
The ‘Red Letter Day PA experience’ prize was to spend the afternoon behind the scenes at the Tigers’ match against Bournemouth last weekend, seeing how things work on match-days, including band sound-checks, half-time scores and those all important goal and substitution announcements!
Deborah’s perfect afternoon started at the players changing room, watching the players arrive and prepare for the match, with the remainder spent in the thick of the match-day activity, pitch-side with PA announcer Martyn Hainstock and in the nerve centre, the PA room.
Deborah, who brought husband Glenn - a lifelong Tiger supporter, with her, thoroughly enjoyed every moment of her special day and said: “The highlight for me was standing in the tunnel watching the players run out, that was a great experience!
“Also, being in the PA box and seeing how information is relayed from there to Martyn at pitch-side was fascinating.
“The whole afternoon was a real insight into what happens behind the scenes, and so much goes on that I was unaware of. It was really exciting and made me want to work there!”
