The Stadium Management Company (SMC) has today unveiled the new official sponsor of the community Sports Arena at the Kingston Communications Stadium.
The SMC has signed a sponsorship agreement with high-profile local company Vulcan Windows for the naming rights to the sports and entertainments venue, which will now be known as THE VULCAN ARENA.
The state of the art multi-purpose Vulcan Arena is another key element of Hull’s flagship £43.5m Kingston Communications Stadium complex and is capable of providing international standard facilities for a variety of indoor and outdoor sports.
Boasting 300 fixed gallery seats, the Vulcan Arena can be converted into a 1,500 seat arena and the complex has already hosted the British Masters Light Heavyweight Boxing Title and the North of England County Hockey Championships. In addition to sporting events, the Vulcan Arena is an ideal venue for a variety of concerts, which will hold up to 2,000 people.
David Walker, Chairman and Managing Director of Vulcan Windows commented, “We are extremely proud that our Company is supporting what is without doubt one of the most exciting sporting developments within the region for many years.
“The combination of Hull City Council’s foresight and commitment together with the professionalism of The Stadium Management Company has provided the area with a unique sporting and entertainment venue.
“Our opportunity to become involved in such a landmark project is gratifying, as on a personal level my family and I have had many links with sport in the city. From a business level my Companies have had great involvement in many construction and refurbishment projects with Hull City Council and as a local employer it gives me great pleasure to be associated with such a prestigious development.”
The Vulcan Arena also attracts top clubs for many sports, and the Hull Icebergs English National Basketball team and Hull High Flyers Trampoline Club have already made the venue their home. With the prestige of the Kingston Communications Stadium to back it up together with its central location, the Vulcan Arena is destined to become a beacon of civic and sporting pride and a major venue for a variety of national and international events.
Chairman of SMC Adam Pearson added. “We are delighted to be associated with a highly respected company such as Vulcan Windows who are well known throughout the City.
“The agreement completes another part of the jigsaw in our ongoing efforts to fulfil the sponsorship opportunities here at the Stadium and I would like to take this opportunity to thank David Walker and the staff of Vulcan Windows for their support in this project.”
