Head Coach David Platt has named a 22-man squad for the training get-together in Sardinia as part of England Under-21s preparation for the game against Serbia & Montenegro at the Kingston Communications Stadium next month.
A final squad will be named before the international match with Serbia & Montenegro, formerly known as Yugoslavia, at the KC Stadium on 2nd June. That will provide the side with an ideal warm-up ahead of the final match of the season, the important Euro Qualifier with Slovakia in Sunderland on June 10th.
West Ham skipper Joe Cole is again involved and will be joined by team mates Glen Johnson, Jermain Defoe and Ex-Tiger Steven Bywater. The former Rochdale goalie made four appearances for Warren Joyce's Tigers when he joined on loan from the Hammers in November 1999. The other local connection is Southampton's Hull-born midfielder, David Prutton.
Two of Arsenal's side that beat Southampton 6-1 last week, hat-trick man Jermaine Pennant and full-back Ryan Garry, are also included.
Nottingham Forest's young defender, Michael Dawson is again named, but his appearance is subject to Forest's play-off fortunes.
