Mark Ellwood is hoping it will be a case of third time lucky on Friday 13th June when he tackles American Tommy Ventora for a world kick boxing title at the Vulcan Arena, Kingston Communications Stadium, Hull.
The fight falls on Ellwood’s 40th birthday and having previously twice missed out on the WAKO Super middleweight title he will be looking to take the IFKA middleweight crown from Ventora.
Ellwood’s last title shot against Frenchman Jean Martin 18 months ago ended in defeat and that was just his third loss in 50 career kick-boxing bouts.
Since then he has tried his hand at boxing and currently has a six fight unbeaten professional record behind him with his latest victory coming at the Vulcan Arena last month.
Tickets for Ellwood’s match-up with Ventora will be priced between £10 and £20 and further details will be available shortly.
