The big names just keep on coming for Steve Oldham’s Benefit match being held at the KC Stadium on Sunday July 13 with both Stephen Fleming and Yuvraj Singh confirmed as starters for Yorkshire.
The 20/20 game between Yorkshire and an International XI is part of Steve Oldham’s Benefit Year and is really beginning to capture the imagination of cricket fans.
The famous Lashings Club – who are to provide the International XI – will definitely include Richie Richardson and Mark Waugh in their team and they’re set to be joined by the likes of Jimmy Adams, Junior Murray and Sherwin Campbell amongst others.
Yorkshire will be fielding as strong a side as possible and the inclusion of their two overseas stars is a clear signal of that intention.
Yuvraj Singh is regarded in cricket circles as being the next Sachin Tendulkar and is an exciting, talented batsman.
New Zealander Stephen Fleming is also a prolific scorer with the bat and the 30-year-old has amassed over 4,600 runs in 75 Test appearances for the Kiwis.
He has skippered his country 48 times at Test level and 142 times in One Day Internationals.
Along with Singh, his appearance will be a major bonus for the sizeable crowd that is expected for the game.
Tickets are priced at £10 adults and £5 concessions and can be purchased by calling the KC Stadium ticket office.
