Aspiring young cricketers from across the region will receive once in a lifetime coaching ahead of Sunday’s Twenty20 cricket match at the KC Stadium, on Sunday 13th July, from some of the games top stars.
Fifty youngsters, aged 7-15, from cricket clubs and schools in Hull and the East Riding, will be treated to a one-on-one coaching session from both Yorkshire and Lashings players, who will be passing on their expert tips and advice.
Joe Duffy, Geographical Officer for Hull City Council’s Sports Development, said. “It’s a real inspiration to these kids to be coached by players of this calibre.
“It’s a unique opportunity for the kids to not only watch international players, but to meet them and pick up valuable advice and techniques. These players are role models and through coaching they will build these young players confidence and raise their self esteem.
“The kids are really looking forward to their coaching session and I’m sure it will be something they remember for a long time.”
The Yorkshire and Lashings players will then compete in a Twenty20 match being held at the KC Stadium from 2.30pm.
Amongst the cricket superstars confirmed to appear are Richie Richardson, Mark Waugh, Sherwin Campbell, Jimmy Adams and Franklyn Rose.
It promises to be a tremendous sporting event for both cricket fans and those new to the game, and tickets are still available in advance from the KC Stadium ticket office priced at £10 adults, £5 concessions. There will also be the facility to pay on the day at the turnstiles.
A family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) is available for just £20. Please note family tickets can only be purchased from the ticket office, not on the turnstiles and the ticket office is open from 11.00am – 2.30pm on the day of the event.
