The Tigers Treatment Room

Hull City AFC launches the Tigers Treatment Room on Wednesday 1st October 2003.

This fantastic new in-house physiotherapy service is available to the general public from Wednesday 1st October 2003 and will offer appointments for those interested in accessing the same state-of-the-art facilities and expertise that is currently available to the professionals at the club.

The Tigers Treatment Room will be run by Hull City physiotherapist Simon Maltby MSCP SRP BSc (HONS), who is fresh from an FA post at Lilleshall.

He will be available, along with other highly qualified and experienced members of his staff, between 5pm - 9pm on weekdays at the Kingston Communications Stadium.

The physiotherapy team will carry out initial assessments, treatment, and rehabilitation - not only of a vast array of sports injuries, but also a wide range of general musculoskeletal problems.

"It is anticipated that people involved in a wide range of sports will access the service as a means of preventing injuries, and as well as following injuries," explains Simon.

"Those involved either in individual or team sports can be given advice on how to prevent common problems, and on how to improve their performance.  We can conduct assessments and then produce a programme of treatment.  Progress can then be closely monitored.  At the Kingston Communications Stadium, we have access to a wide range of expertise, including a sports scientist, chartered physiotherapists and a masseur.

"We can offer programmes specific to a particular sport and tailored to the individual's own role and personal profile within that sport."

And Simon also expects that the demand from the public presenting with a range of musculoskeletal problems is likely to be significant.  "We expect to see people with a range of back and neck problems. Our staff will assess the situation and offer treatment whenever appropriate.  Once we identify what the problem or needs are, we can advise on what is required and the cost of a particular programme.

"The services we offer are comprehensive and if required can include advice on diet or other health education matters."

In endorsing the new service, Adam Pearson, Chairman of the Stadium Management Company and Hull City AFC said. "I think the Tigers Treatment Room will provide the public of Hull with the very best in physiotherapy and rehab for sporting and non sporting injuries. The facilities and physios are of the highest standard and the treatment occurring in a top class sports venue is an added bonus."

Located within the Kingston Communications Stadium deVries Honda West Stand complex, clients at the Tigers Treatment Room will have ample and easy parking - with convenient late afternoon and evening appointments available.

To book an appointment during office hours [9am to 5pm] from 1st October 2003.
