Hull City AFC are pleased to be supporting their girl’s teams this year, by supplying playing kit and equipment.
The kit was officially handed over to the teams at half-time during Sunday’s match against Carlisle, by Adrian Cross, Senior Branch Manager at Nationwide, and Football in the Community Manager, John Davies, who commented. “This assistance will be invaluable to our teams, as resources are precious to the girl’s.”
The support is possible thanks to Nationwide Building Society’s continued backing of women’s and girl’s football in the UK, with their Supporters of Tomorrow Scheme.
The scheme has been designed by Nationwide to encourage clubs in the three divisions of the Nationwide Football League to promote female interest in football. In addition, Nationwide, as an Official Partner of The Football Association and women’s football, is supporting the clubs as they encourage women to attend Football League action.
The Nationwide grant of £750,000 will be shared equally between all Nationwide Football League clubs and will be distributed in the coming season to support the development of the women’s game.
As part of the Nationwide Supporters of Tomorrow initiative, free training sessions for Girl’s will be held at the KC Stadium during the school half-term breaks in October and February. For details on how to register, contact Football in the Community.
Any girls interested in getting involved in football in their local area should call The FA’s ‘Girls Get Involved’ hotline, the East Riding County FA on 221158 or the Football in the Community Office.
