Pop princesses Girls Aloud have been confirmed to support chart-toppers Blue when they bring their full live show to the Kingston Communications Stadium in Hull, on Saturday 1st May 2004.
The five girls, who went down a storm at the KC last summer when they appeared ahead of Westlife at Foxy & Tom’s ‘Big Bash’, join an impressive support line up which also includes R&B star Jamelia and Irish boy-band D-side.
Stadium officials are keen to point out that this is a live show with each of the support acts expected to perform between 20-40 minutes each ahead of headliners Blue. Blue are of course renowned for their fantastic stage show, and with their full backing band and dancers appearing with them in Hull, fans are in for a real treat!
The concert is one of only a handful of scheduled gigs this year by the boys from Blue and the Stadium Management Company (SMC), who are promoting the concert, are delighted to be bringing some of the UK’s hottest talent to Hull.
Girls Aloud burst onto the music scene in 2002 fresh from ITV hit show ‘Popstars – The Rivals’ when they grabbed the coveted Christmas number one slot with their debut single ‘Sound of the Underground.’
Their follow up singles ‘No Good Advice’ and ‘Life Got Cold’ were also massive hits, and most recently their stylish re-working of 80’s smash ‘Jump’ – from the soundtrack of Brit flick Love Actually, re-affirmed the girls status as serious pop contenders.
The final list of confirmed acts to support Blue is: Girls Aloud, Jamelia, D-Side, Darius and Kelly.
Blue release their brand new single 'Breathe Easy' on Monday 22nd March and tickets for their show are on sale now priced from £22, by calling (national lo-call number, 10p per minute max.), online from www.ticketzone.co.uk or in person from the KC Stadium Ticket office.
