The Kingston Communications Stadium should be jam-packed with football fans ahead of the new season, when two teams of international football Legends from England and Scotland battle it out on Sunday 18th July 2004 (kick-off 3.00pm).
Each team will include 20 internationally capped players, with the majority having represented their countries in either World Cup or European Championship tournaments during their careers.
The English side will be captained by Newcastle, Spurs and England legend Paul Gascoigne, whilst Glasgow Rangers goalscoring legend Ally McCoist has been given the armband for the Scottish team. In addition, both teams will be appointed a celebrity manager to steer their team to victory.
Other big names in the frame to take part include Gary McAllister, Andy Goram and Gordon Durie who will represent the Scottish Legends, along with Steve McMahon, John Fashanu, Chris Waddle and former Tigers Manager Mark Hateley for the England team.
A celebrity football match will precede the main event, and will also provide the entertainment at the half-time break, making a day of great value entertainment for the whole family.
Adam Pearson, Chairman of the Stadium Management Company, said. "We're delighted to be able to confirm this event as not only will it be a great day for football fans across the country, it will also be a thoroughly enjoyable day for all the family."
