Peter Beardsley and Chris Woods are the latest players to have confirmed their appearance for the Legends Game between England and Scotland at the Kingston Communications Stadium on Sunday 18th July 2004.
Beardsley, a hero in his hometown of Newcastle where he had two spells with the North-East club, won 59 caps for England, scoring nine goals. During his international career, Beardsley appeared in both the 1986 and 1990 World Cup tournaments in Mexico and Italy respectively.
Goalkeeper Woods made 43 appearances for England, but that total would surely have been bigger had it not been for Peter Shiltons dominance during the 1980s and 90s. Woods started his playing career at Norwich City but made his name in the successful Glasgow Rangers side of the late 80s and 90s during Graeme Sounesss reign as manager.
More legends will be confirmed for the game in the forthcoming weeks.
The response to the fixture since its announcement last week has been fantastic and tickets are selling well. Tickets are on sale now from the KC Stadium ticket office priced at £10 adults and £5 concessions.
