It has been confirmed by Hull City Council that there will be a change in the vehicular access to the KC Stadium from the Walton Street entrance.
This entrance will be closed to through traffic to and from the Stadium from Monday 18th October 2004.
To access/egress the stadium directly from Walton Street, all vehicular traffic will need to enter the Walton Street car park and follow the road that enters the Stadium between the rail line and the all weather pitches.
This ruling has been instigated by the owners of the site, Hull City Council, after consultation with the Stadium Management Company under the terms and conditions of the Green Travel Plan.
Concerns have been raised by local residents and the Leisure Services department, regarding the volume of traffic using this entrance, and the way in which some cars are driving at excessive speed in an area that attracts large volumes of people.
The Vulcan Arena is unaffected by the change, access will be normal, as will the access road to the Carnegie Library building.
All other entry routes to the stadium are unaffected.
