Hull City fans can now buy tickets for matches at the Kingston Communications Stadium from a City centre location, the Hull City Hall, thanks to a new partnership between the Stadium Management Company (SMC) and Hull City Council.
The Hull City Council Booking Office under the Hull City Hall, Carr Lane, already sells tickets for the Hull City Hall, Hull New Theatre, Hull Screen and other outside events and has now had the technology installed to sell tickets for Hull City AFC matches at the KC Stadium over the counter.
Hull City Hall Manager Tony Ridley commented: "I'm pleased that we are making a difference for the citizens of Hull. This new service in the Hull City Council Booking office will give Hull City supporters the chance to purchase tickets in the City centre saving them the need to go to the KC Stadium.
"This partnership working between the City Council and the SMC has been a great team effort by the Hull City Hall management, IT technical support, Legal Services and the SMC team."
Rob Smith, Marketing Manager of the Stadium Management Company (SMC) commented: "The new Carr Lane ticket outlet offers supporters an additional location to purchase tickets to Hull City AFC home matches.
"The Stadium Management Company were aware that supporters needed a more convenient way to purchase tickets and hopefully this partnership with the Hull City Hall will assist those fans who can not regularly come down to the KC Stadium during normal office hours.
"The outlet in the City Centre will be a real convenience to fans and if it proves successful we will look at the possibility of selling tickets for other stadium based events such as concerts, internationals and rugby matches."
Councillor David Gemmell, Hull City Council's Portfolio Holder for Quality of Life, commented: "I can't praise enough everyone who has been involved in getting this initiative up and running. I'm sure all Hull City supporters will be delighted that they can now get their tickets at a City centre location.
"It's great to see the organisations pulling together to the benefit of all our customers, but it won't stop there. Once it has been bedded in and proven we will extend it to events at other venues."
