Following the late withdrawal of Paolo Nutini at the weekend, concert officials have today announced that the main support act for Tuesday's Bon Jovi concert will be London-based band Kubb.
The band, who have been compared musically to Coldplay, Radiohead and Muse, have been together for 18 months and are fronted by the charismatic Harry Collier, whose unique voice has been likened to the late Jeff Buckley.
Their debut album 'Mother', which was described by some pundits as 'an extraordinary sit-up-and-listen debut', was produced by renowned Producer Youth (Crowded House, Beth Orton, Embrace) and includes their chart hits Wicked Soul, Remain and Somebody Else.
As well as being voted as the Best New Band for 2006 by Smash Hits, they were also listed as one of the top 10 up-and-coming acts by industry experts in the BBC News website's 'Sound of 2006' survey.
Kubb will be appearing at several of Europe's top music festivals this summer, including T in the Park, V Festival and at the Rock AM ring in Germany.
Tuesday's show will be opened by Chesterfield band ‘Reminiscence’, who were the winners of a unique competition run by Mercury Records, Viking FM & Hallam FM to give an unsigned band the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appear on the same stage as Bon Jovi.
Doors open at 4pm and the first act are due on stage at approximately 5.30pm.
Remaining tickets for Bon Jovi are on sale priced from £25 each - call the KC Stadium Ticket Office.
