In response to concerns about traffic congestion and car parking ahead of Hull Fair and Hull FC's match against Bradford here at the KC this evening, Hull City Council has today made an extra 1419 car parking spaces available in the city centre.
To cope with the extra demand, Osborne Street multi-storey car park, with over 419 spaces available, will be open this evening only until 11pm.
Osborne Street multi-storey is a short walk to the Fair and the KC Stadium via Anlaby Road. This car park is a safe, secure and staffed site with charges as follows: up to 2 hours £1.80, up to 3 hours £2.70, up to 5 hours £4.00.
Surface car parks on Albion Street, Mason Street, Francis Street, Blanket Row and Little Pryme Street will be open during the evening providing an extra 500 places. Parking in Albion Street will cost £1.50 and Mason Street £2.50 with security staff on-site. The remaining surface car parks will be free of charge after 6.00pm.
In addition there will also be 500 on-street parking spaces, which will also be free of charge after 6.00pm. All city centre car parking is a short walk to the Fair and KC Stadium via Anlaby Road.
The city council provides visitors with Hull Fair's official car park close to the fairground site (access via Walliker Street), but anticipates it will be extremely busy.
Bradford Bull fans and Hull FC fans travelling into Hull are being encouraged to use the park and ride service at Priory Park (located just off the A63) to get to the match.
EYMS will be running this Park and Ride service at regular intervals until 11.20pm from outside West Park on Anlaby Road. A return fare costs £1.50 per person.
Hull FC fans living in the city and travelling to the match are advised to use the Hull Fair buses to reduce traffic congestion.
EYMS bus services 65F from Cottingham and 56F from Asda Bilton/Longhill will run at regular intervals with a single flat fare of £1.00 for adults and children.
Stagecoach services 32F, 43F, 51F and 89F will also run at regular intervals to and from the fair with a single flat fare of £1.00 for adults and children. A Family Flexirider ticket for up to five people is available for £7.00 return.
