The Who Return To Rock Europe

The Who World Tour begins 2007 with the announcement of a full European tour kicking off in Lisbon and visiting 14 different countries and 28 cities throughout the summer.

The band will be heading to play the KC Stadium on Saturday 26th May and tickets, priced from £35 will go on sale at 9am on Friday 16th February.

These dates are the first in the UK and continental Europe since the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Endless Wire’ the band’s first studio release in over two decades.

Announcing the dates, Pete Townshend commented, "It goes on and on and on and on and on. It gets better and better and better and better. It is more and more fun. But this chapter is over in July 2007 so if you want to catch the new Who at their most effective for twenty years, come and join us."

Roger Daltrey was equally effusive saying, "It’s great to have been around for this length of time and still be playing new material, having it so well received and people liking the music. Life doesn't get any better than that!"

The European leg of the tour follows on from their critically acclaimed North American tour dates, playing to sold out crowds and universal critical delight;

“Their thundering, intense sound kept a sold-out United Center crowd thoroughly entertained for more than two hours...”  - Chicago Sun Times

“The two-hour concert repeatedly drew strength from The Who's newfound ability to revitalize, and not just rehash, its storied musical past.” – San Diego Union Tribune

“More than forty years on, The Who’s shows still burst with youthful exuberance.” – Boston Herald

Anticipation for the tour is already running at an all-time high following the incredible critical and box-office response to the Who’s European festival shows last summer. Fans and critics alike have hailed the show as being, “Just like the good ole days,” with the same, unbridled power and emotion that exemplifies a Who show.

The Who, famous for their powerful music and energy on stage, have been performing songs from their new mini rock opera, ‘Wire & Glass’ and material from their newly released studio album ‘Endless Wire’ along with their greatest hits and rarities, to the satisfaction of long-time fans.

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey will be joined on stage for this tour by John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick on keyboards, Pino Palladino on bass, Zak Starkey on drums and Simon Townshend on guitar and vocals.

“With an amazing new album under their belt and their incredible on-stage energy higher than ever The Who are THE band not to be missed this Summer” said Mark Norman, president, CPI Global Touring.
