It has been confirmed that Sunderland will provide the opposition for Hull City when the Kingston Communications Stadium officially opens on Wednesday December 18.
The question of whether the men from the Stadium of Light would be coming to the city was hanging in the balance.
However, their exit at the hands of Sheffield United in the Worthington Cup means that they will definitely be making the trip down the A1 on December 18.
Along with the Tigers they will play their part in what promises to be a historic occasion for the City of Hull.
Tickets for the Opening Ceremony go on sale on Saturday December 7 when the Boothferry Park ticket office will be open between 9am and midday.
