Mark Ellwood is hoping it will be a case of third time lucky on Friday 13th June when he tackles Robert Nowak for a world kick boxing title at the Vulcan Arena, Kingston Communications Stadium, Hull.
Mark Ellwood celebrates his 40th birthday on that day with a crack at the W.A.K.O. World championship hoping that this will be a double celebration by gaining the world title for the city of Hull.
His original opponent was the American Tommy Ventora. Unfortunately Tommy has had to pull out due to the recent death of his brother.
A worthy opponent is waiting in the wings, the tough gritty Polish kick boxer Robert Nowak. The 30 year-old whose record is impressive to say the least has only being beaten twice from fifty two professional fights. This is no last minute stand in, the 'Wroclaw wizard' is here for a win, and incidentally he is the current W.AK.O middleweight champion!
There will be a full supporting bill including an area championship contest with Hull lad Danny Mckinel taking to the ring.
Ticket prices, £20 ringside, £15 unreserved tiered seating.
